Mini Split System
Mini Split Advantages
Mini Split Systems are a very efficient solution for your cooling needs. Ductless mini-splits eliminate the need for air ducts, which can save up to 30% of the energy needed. Each zone has its own thermostat, allowing you to only cool the rooms that you are in, giving you
greater control and efficiency.
These systems are perfect for installing in homes without existing duct-work, or in home additions where expanding your existing system is not feasible. Compared to window-mounted A/C units, these systems provide a greater level of security. Window-mounted units provide easy access for intruders, whereas, mini-split systems only utilize a small, 3 inch hole in the wall.
How it works
Mini Splits utilize an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit. The two units are connected by a power cable, refrigerant tubing, suction tubing, and a condensate drain. Refrigerant is cooled in the compressor, then it is circulated into the air handler where it chills the air, which is blown into the room. The refrigerant is then circulated back to the compressor, where it is cooled again and the cycle is repeated.
